NIH announces Transformative R01 Program

The T-R01 program was created to facilitate and support exceptionally innovative, high risk, original and/or unconventional research.  Five year projects with budgets up to $25M total costs per year for 5 years may be proposed.  NIH prior approval is not required for this program.  Be advised that the content of the T-R01 differs from a conventional R01 application.  See the NIH FAQ's for details.   http://nihroadmap.nih.gov/faq.asp

 

Questions about the scope and intent of the T-R01 program should be directed to Kristin Abraham, Ph.D. (301) 594-8190 or at T_R01@mail.nih.gov  EMAIL inquiries are strongly preferred.  Submission of 2010 applications through grants.gov begins December 22, 2009 and ends January 22, 2010, 5:00 PM local time.  A letter of intent is required by December 22, 2009.
