Education and Training

The Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP) is the central department at the University of Connecticut responsible for assessing and addressing the training and information needs of UConn staff and faculty involved in sponsored research.

In 2006, OSP established a PreAward Departmental Administrators group to assist faculty with finding funding opportunities, developing and processing proposals for sponsored projects including submission to funding agencies, and ensuring compliance with University and sponsor policies and regulations. The following year, the group expanded its scope to include Post-Award administrators who support the project upon award. It was renamed Research Administrators Working Group to reflect this broadened scope and audience.
