Calculating Tuition on Grants

Effective for all proposals submitted with a deadline date of or after July 1, 2009, graduate tuition charges should be itemized as a direct cost on proposal budgets. All budgets must include a line item for 60% of the full time in-state graduate tuition for each graduate student assigned to the project. To assist with this requirement, OSP has developed the following tool. To use the chart, insert the hours per week or the percentage of effort and the project period. Press calculate. The amounts for one semester and two semesters are calculated with a 6% projected increase for outgoing years. The chart can be completed for each graduate student, if necessary.
